History of NFA

National Finance Adjusters, Inc. was established in 1947. The Association originated with 16 members in 20 states. Fifty–five years later NFA is represented by 201 members, with 366 listings in 50 states, Canada and Puerto Rico.

The growth of National Finance Adjusters, Inc. is directly proportional to the professionalism and integrity of its members who strive to provide the best possible service to all lending institutions. Over the years many members have expanded their operations to include, but not limited to: Skip Tracing, Vehicle Title Service, Transporting Service, Locksmithing, Remarketing Collateral and various other services.

For over fifty years, National Finance Adjusters Inc. (NFA) has joined the most professional collateral recovery specialists into an elite association with a world of experience and professional expertise. To the members of the lending/leasing industry who deal with collateral recovery, National Finance Adjusters is readily recognized as the oldest, most professional association of its type in the World. Each member is covered by a $1,000,000 Client Security Bond.

National Finance Adjusters contributes to the financial industry by offering a wide range of educational services and opportunities. In addition to publishing numerous educational articles, NFA also sponsors REPOSSESSION . . . A SEMINAR. These educational seminars have been held in over 70 cities across the United States. Our speakers have included top management from some of the largest financial institutions, state officials, prominent attorneys, specialists from government agencies, motivational speakers, plus experts in skip tracing. To date,they have been attended by over 7,000 members of the lending\leasing industry. Almost every major bank, leasing firm and credit union has sent their representative. These seminars have proven to be a unique opportunity for both NFA members and the lenders we serve, to learn more about our industry, the laws that govern it and new events that may shape its future.
